Certification Policy Handbook

Please download a copy of the Certification Policy Handbook, a resource you may refer to when questions arise about certification program policies or procedures. This document was updated in September 2023.

Newly Certified Welcome Packet

Shortly after earning your globally recognized PHTA certification, you will receive a certification welcome packet that will include:

Digital copy of certificate
Digital badge
Patch
Hard copy certificate (to display in your office or store)

Logos

Use your certification logo on your website, business cards, social media pages, brochures, and other marketing materials.

If you did not receive your certification logo via email, please contact service@phta.org.

PHTA Members: You can use the PHTA logo in addition to your certification logo. Download the PHTA logo here.

Press Releases

Share the news of your certification by publishing a press release. We have created customizable press release templates you can use for each certification.

Best Practices for Marketing Your Certification

Being a certified professional sets you apart from the competition. Here are some suggestions on how to market your skills, dedication, and commitment to excellence:

Use your designation on your business card
Showcase your designation on your website
Make sure to display your certification designation in your email signature
Help your clients understand that you're certified by using your designation badge on your consumer brochures

Recertification

Don't let your certification lapse!

CPO certifications are valid for five years from the end of the month of issuance. For example, certifications issued on March 2, 2018, will expire March 31, 2023.

All other PHTA certifications (CMS, CST, CSP, CPI, CHTT, CRP, and CBP) are valid for three years, ending on December 31 of the third year. For example, certifications issued in August 2020 will expire December 31, 2023.
