San Antonio, Texas – building code adoptions 

Issue: Adoption of 2018 I-Codes; removing the references to International Swimming Pool & Spa Code

Summary: On June 21, the City Council considered an ordinance adopting the 2018 editions of the International Code Council as well as the 2017 National Electrical Code, along with respective local amendments to these codes, and applying administrative clarification and providing for penalties, publication and effective dates.  The International Swimming Pool & Spa Code was not considered.  In addition, references to the ISPSC found in the International Residential Code (Section R326) and International Building Code (Section 3109) were removed and replaced with pool and spa barrier language that is consistent with the ISPSC.

Status: At the June 21 City Council meeting the ordinance was approved.
