Issue: Building Standards Commission: 2018 Triennial Code Adoption Cycle for the 2019 California Building Code
Affects: Those who build or renovate pools and spas.
Rule Summary: In May 2018 the California Building Standards Commission received proposed code changes from state agencies given authority in law to adopt or propose for adoption regulations in the California Building Standards Code, California Code of Regulations, Title 24. In addition, the Commission adopted Building Code amendments to reformat the rule language addressing the California Swimming Pool Safety Act.
Status: The Commission approved the codes. The entire code will be published July 1, 2019 and effective January 1, 2020.
