Summary: On April 19, 2018, the City Council held a workshop meeting to discuss pool covers and fences. The proposal is to remove automatic pool covers from an approved barrier option. The Council consensus is to amend the code to state that fencing is required and no longer allow powered pool covers.
Status: On June 7, 2018, the City Council had first reading of the ordinance to amend Section 18-421 and Section 18-424 of the Municipal Code relating to location and security of swimming pools. On June 21, 2018, the City Council passed the adoption of the ordinance on second reading.
