Issue:  L.C. 2970 – VERIFYING CREDENTIALS FOR CONSTRUCTION WORK

 

Affects:  Those providing construction work, which would appear to include swimming pools (APSP is investigating).

Bill Summary:  This measure requires an inspector of construction work to ascertain the name, license type and number of each contractor or subcontractor having responsibility for the work being inspected. Furthermore, this measure requires an inspector to ascertain the name, license or certificate type and number of one or more individuals who performed construction work on a project if said work being inspected requires that individuals have licenses or certificates. Additionally, this measure requires an inspector to include all of the above information on a form documenting the inspection of work. Finally, this measure allows an inspector to delay approving projects if they are unable to ascertain names, licenses or certificate types and numbers of contractors, subcontractors individuals who performed the work being inspected.
