Howard County, Maryland- International Swimming Pool and Spa Code (ISPSC) and other I-Codes
Issue: Adoption of ISPSC
Affects: Those who build pool/spas
Send comments to: Regan Ratliff, email@example.com
Summary: Howard County will consider an ordinance to adopt the 2018 International Building Code, Residential Code, Mechanical Code and Energy Conservation Code.
The proposed ordinance has deleted the reference to the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code (ISPSC) from both the International Building and Residential Code.
PHTA urges members to attend this meeting and advocate for the adoption of the ISPSC. The ISPSC is an ICC code that works alongside the other codes listed for adoption. Also, the adoption of a swimming pool and spa code creates a safer environment for bathers as well as design and construction standards for swimming pool and spa companies who operate in the county.
Status: Howard County will hold a meeting May 6, 2019 at 7:00PM.
