Bill Summary: The purpose of this bill is to delete the requirement for a unanimous agreement by the four county building officials to any proposed state building code amendment.
The proposed language reads as follows: The council shall appoint a subcommittee comprising the four council members representing county building officials, whose duty shall be to recommend any necessary or desirable state amendments to the codes and standards identified in section 107-25.
Status: This bill was referred to the Senate Ways and Means Committee, the Senate Committee on Public Safety, Intergovernmental, and Military Affairs, and the Senate Committee on Government Operations.  A hearing was held January 30, 2019.  APSP will report once more information is released.
