Bill Summary: This measure creates a one-time tax credit for taxpayers making energy efficiency improvements to their homes.  A taxpayer qualifies for the credit if they make improvements of at least 20% to their home's energy efficiency.
The measure requires a third party inspection of the home before and after the improvements are made to determine if the taxpayer qualifies for the credit.
The measure limits the credit to the taxable year in which the improvements are made and no later than one calendar year after the improvements are made.
The measure sets a maximum amount of the total amount of tax credit allowable at $1,000,000 for each year between January 1, 2020 and January 2, 2023, and at $2,000,000 for each year between January 1, 2023 and January 1, 2025.
