Bill Summary: This bill seeks to create the ‘Empower Independent Contractors Act of 2019’. Also, this measure gives the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission the authority to determine whether an individual is an independent contractor or an employee using the 20-factor test used by the Internal Revenue Service of the US Department of Treasury.
This bill was signed by the Governor and will take effect January 1, 2020.
