SB 1704 - BUILDING CODES
Those who manufacturer and install solar pool heating systems
Would appear to open the door for new regulations on installations of
solar pool heating systems.

Directs The State Board of Building Regulations and Standards to hold a
public hearing to determine whether to amend the Building Code to address
applications of solar thermal technology beyond domestic hot water applications
to include swimming pool heating, space heating and industrial process heat.
Status: Hearing held July 21. The Joint Committee on
Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture, co-chaired by Senator Anne Gobi
(D) and Representative Paul Schmid (D), took no action on this measure. There
was no support or opposition testimony provided at the hearing. Passed
Committee; referred to Senate Ways and Means Committee October 26th.
