Issue: Amending the Drought Contingency Plan

Affects: Possible affects to pools and spas; depending on stage of restriction.

Summary: The City Council will discuss and consider action on the approval of an ordinance amending the Drought Contingency Plan, to become effective immediately.  Previously, during a brief discussion regarding the changes being recommended by Staff to the Drought Contingency Plan, Josh Becker spoke of the previous amendments that had been made to the Plan, discussing the changes to the different Stages. Another comment made was by Alderman Bauman, who wants to keep everyone with water, triggering Sr. Water Rights Call before going to State 5. Important to APSP members, it was suggested Staff go back and address the event center, pool, and splash pad. Event center Manager, Ray Craig stated he has begun to look at collecting water from the roof, with a 5,000 gallon storage tank.

Status:  A City Council Meeting will be held August 13, 2018 at 5:30pm.
