Santa Barbara, California – Revisions to water system ordinances

Summary: Upon recommendations from Staff, the City will review an ordinance proposing updates to portions of the City’s Municipal Code, Title 14, which governs the City’s water system. The updates are related to private water submetering, cross-connection control, and other miscellaneous revisions.  Important to APSP members, swimming pools and spas are included in the list of items that require a backflow preventer and additional guidelines for the backflow preventer are provided.  Section 14.08.150 New Dwelling Units- Metering Requirements and Section 14.21.070 Conditions Requiring Backflow Preventers make a reference to swimming pools and spas. 

Status: The City Council will hold a meeting August 14, 2018 at 2:00PM.
