APSP UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES NEW ONLINE RETAIL MANAGEMENT  CERTIFICATION COURSE
CRP Certified Pool & Spa Retail Professional 201 Course Now Available

(ALEXANDRIA, VA) - The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP) announced today the availability of its new online self-paced CRP Certified Pool & Spa Retail Professional 201 course.

Designed to increase retail managers skills and confidence in supervising, hiring, training and leading,  this eight-hour self-paced online interactive course gives students a strong foundation about the management aspects of running a retail store. The course consists of six modules including:  operation and inventory, human relations, communication and leadership skills, marketing and merchandising, sales techniques and financial management skills.

“Skilled workers are the key to running a successful business, said APSP Retail Council Chairman, Mallory Wachowski.”  “ A structured retail sales training program that increases the productivity of each individual is the way to increase the sales of the organization as a whole. APSP continually is on the forefront of what the industry needs and customers demand.”

There are no prerequisites for the CRP 201 course.  Topics covered in the course include: inventory, storage and purchasing, customer relationship management software, hiring procedures, employee coaching and discipline, workman’s compensation, workplace harassment, marketing channels and building brand presence, establishing accounting procedures, pricing and margins and key finance options.

“The business skills covered in the CRP 201 course provide the depth that is essential for every manager in today’s retail store climate, said APSP Retail Council Vice Chairman, Jeffrey Campbell.” “With self-paced flexibility, even busy management won’t miss a single topic.  Relevant, higher level content is one of the most requested opportunities for support I hear across the country, and now everyone in the retail segment has a new resource to improve their unique skillsets.”

In addition to the CRP 201 course, APSP offers the CRP 101 course for the retail sales professional.  Released in January of 2019, CRP 101 is an eight-hour online self-paced interactive course that gives the  retail sales person a strong foundation to effectively and efficiently run a retail business.

“At APSP we pride ourselves on delivering high quality training that equips our students with the tools and knowledge to perform their roles to the best of their ability, said APSP Education Director, Silvia Uribe.” “Given the growing demand for pool and spa retail education, we’re excited to launch our new, online self-paced retail management course.”

Those that successfully complete the course can take the CRP exam either at a PSI testing center,  through a scheduled proctored exam or on-site at a regional or Chapter sponsored event. Students can register online for the CRP 201 course at APSP.org/Store.  For more information, email APSP University at APSPUniversity@apsp.org or call APSP’s Director of Education, Silvia Uribe at 703.838.0083 ext. 212.
