Technical Manuals APSP offers the following industry technical training manuals:
- Builders Manual. Written and reviewed by industry experts, the APSP Builders Manual is the industry's most comprehensive pool building reference manual, and a required tool for participating in the APSP CBP Certified Building Professional® certification program.
- Hot Tub Tech Manual. This 348-page, full-color reference manual offers a wide body of knowledge on servicing and troubleshooting hot tubs of all makes and models and offers ways to improve technicians’ performance and efficiency. A certified Hot Tub Technician program, based on this Manual, will be available in Winter 2011.
- Retail Sales Associate Manual. More than 200 pages of practical, technical information to help retail sales associates in the pool, spa, and hot tub industry provide the highest quality of services to their customers. Topics include health, safety, structures, electricity, filtration, water quality, maintenance. A companion technical workbook is available, as well as a customer service component. Together they provide a complete self-study experience - culminating in an online, final exam for the RSA certificate.
- Service Tech Manual, 4th edition. Updated in 2010! A must-have technical manual for every pool/spa service provider. This 500 page manual now comes with a CD containing all of the ANSI/APSP pool building and service standards. APSP offers three levels of technical training in pool and spa service all based on the APSP Service Tech Manual.
Standards The ANSI/APSP standards establish voluntary minimum guidelines that, when adopted by governments and agencies, have the force of law. Based on industry best practices and verifiable data, the standards are developed through the rigorous consensus process of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). In 2008 the International Code Council adopted the ANSI/APSP-7 standard into its commercial code (IBC) and its residential code (IBC).

Members can download APSP member logos, information about water conservation and drought plans/consumer awareness measures, in-depth fact sheets on water chemistry and treatment, and marketing and sales tips.
