Why should I choose an APSP member?
APSP members agree to follow a Code of Ethics that promotes integrity, safety and quality. APSP members have access to continual education and certification to stay up-to-date on the latest technology, materials, techniques and safety requirements in the pool industry. Choosing an APSP member also ensures you get peace of mind knowing that you are dealing with companies committed to providing the best services and ensuring your safety and satisfaction. Who do I contact if I have a defective product?
You must contact the manufacturer of the product. This information can be obtained on your product’s package and/or in the user’s manual. This information may be in small print. For a complete list of APSP manufacturers click here.

Can APSP recommend a member or product to me?

Where can I get information on pool safety?
The APSP has a variety of brochures and booklets with a wealth of information about pools, spas, and hot tubs. You can download the brochures by clicking here. APSP offers a checklist of water safety measures that we encourage pool, spa, and hot tub owners to use in making sure that their installations are as safe as possible. Owners of older pools, spas, and hot tubs are encouraged to have their installation evaluated by an APSP member to learn of new technologies and equipment that can enhance water safety. In recognition of the popularity of swimming and other water-related recreational activities in the United States, and the resulting need for ongoing public education on safer water practices, the month of May is National Water Safety Month. National Water Safety Month is a joint effort of the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP), the American Red Cross, the National Recreation & Park Association (NRPA) and the World Waterpark Association (WWA). These organizations represent businesses and other individuals and agencies involved in bringing safe, enjoyable aquatic activities to the American public, from home pools and spas, to waterparks and resorts, to public swimming and water recreation facilities.
Who can I contact for technical assistance for pools, spas or hot tubs?
APSP does not provide technical assistance relative to the building, servicing or maintenance of pools. We do however have a list of our members, some of whom are certified professionals. Since 1985, APSP has been accredited by the American National Standards Institute as the recognized Standards Developing Organization to produce the nation’s swimming pool, spa and hot tub standards. Ask your local professional if they are building and/or servicing your pool, spa or hot tub to ANSI/APSP Standards. Following ANSI/APSP standards means businesses are using techniques and service and repair methods that are based on current technologies and sound research. How do I file a complaint against an APSP member?
APSP does not consider or arbitrate consumer complaints nor determines the validity of complaints or disputes. If you have a complaint against an APSP member, you are encouraged to resolve the compliant directly with the company due to your contractual obligations with that company. If that is not working out, APSP encourages you to file a complaint with your local Better Business Bureau or your local arbitrating authority. Please forward APSP a copy of the compliant and related documentation to memberservices@apsp.org to be placed into the member’s file.
