Each APSP builder member who meets all of the program requirements will be granted the CBP Certified Building Professional® designation.
CBP Certified Building Professional® Program
The APSP CBP Certified Building Professional® Program is a comprehensive education and certification program designed for pool and spa builders, foremen, and contractors.
This program has three levels: BUILDING PROFESSIONAL I (basic), BUILDING PROFESSIONAL II (intermediate), and CBP CERTIFIED BUILDING PROFESSIONAL® (advanced).
The Building Professional I course is offered in two formats: classroom and correspondence.
The Building Professional I Correspondence Course teaches the basic elements of pool and spa construction in a home-study format available anywhere, at any time, throughout the United States.

Builders ManualApplicants for the CBP Certified Building Professional® certification are required to own the
APSP Builders Manual. The manual covers a comprehensive range of topics related to residential pool and spa construction, including business and finance, insurance, preliminary planning, project layout, excavation, hydraulics, circulation and piping, filters, basic electricity, pool and spa lighting, pool structures, water features, deck work, coping and tile, safety features, heaters and accessories, interior surfaces, startups, and loss control. This 500-page reference manual is available to APSP members for $249 (product #02-600). Whether you're applying for the certification or not, you can order your copy of the
