Pools of Fun Golf Benefits Breast Cancer Efforts
APSP member Pools of Fun of Plainfield, IN, is pleased to announce it has raised more than $10,000 from its second annual golf benefit. All proceeds go directly to the fight against breast cancer. Public Review Announced for CA Title 24 Drafts
The California Energy Commission (CEC) has now posted drafts that are available so that the public may preview the development of the 2008 Building Energy Efficiency Standards’ 45-day language. The documents will be updated regularly. APSP continues to work on this issue through its advisory group. MORE.
Andoscas to Manage APSP Northwest Regional Service Center; Maxwell Named Phoenix Chapter Executive Director
APSP has retained Bob and Kim Andosca as co-managers of its Northwest Regional Service Center, a region that includes Alaska, Northern California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington State. In another move, Virginia “Max” Maxwell has been named the new Executive Director for the Central Arizona Chapter (Phoenix) of APSP. MORE.

Swimming Pools Go Green
As water conservation issues continue to make headlines throughout the nation, swimming pools are increasingly impacted. Notably, an Arizona Republic article about water conservation listed APSP as a source for guidelines on making a pool more environmentally friendly. Moreover, in a web article discussing consumers going green with household purchases, APSP member Aquavida Pools in Arizona is mentioned for its efforts to educate pool owners about how to be environmentally responsible by using energy-efficient products and materials in their pools. Tee Off at the APSP President’s Cup!
APSP is partnering with Great Golf Events to present a first-class golf tournament on Monday, November 26, 2007 leading into the International Pool & Spa Expo activities. Proceeds will benefit the APSP’s Government Relations Advisory Committee (GRAC) to enhance our effectiveness in lobbying and regulatory efforts. The event will be held at ChampionsGate Golf Course, 4 miles from the Orange County Convention Center. This course is hosting the nationally televised PGA Father/Son Invitational the following weekend, so the greens and fairways will be in top form.
